Australian Xbox360 Release Delayed?

Rumours have recently been making the rounds claiming that Microsoft has delayed the release of the Xbox360 in Australia, which was originally planned for a March 2, 2006 launch.

The rumour claimed that Microsoft had delayed the launch of the Xbox360 to March 23, 2006. Considering that this rumour originated on a forum, we did not take the claims seriously until further proof had began to form.

Recently, further information on the delayed launch has surfaced. Another forumer, who claims to be an employee of nationwide retailer chain, Target, has reported that next week's catalogue has the release date for the Xbox360 branded as March 23, rather than March 2 that all catalogues have recently been marked with.

Further adding to the rumour's fire are the claims that Microsoft will issue an official statement on the system's delay in Australia on January 27, 2006. Of course, this claim is also nothing more than pure speculation.
